We take a personal approach when providing evidence-based therapeutic services. Each student’s prescriptive plan is part of Luke Waites' Scottish Rite "Take Flight" curriculum, which is Orton-Gillingham based and customized for individual needs. Dyslexia therapy is a multisensory and explicit program. Students progress through lessons that are direct, structured, and sequential. The critical task of rewiring the brain requires time and repetition. Therapy time can vary depending on the student's severity of dyslexia and other comorbidities. We can work together privately or in a small group and will continuously monitor for progress and understanding throughout the therapy.
"...Ms. Carrie made it very enjoyable for me and she’s one of the nicest people I have ever met. I highly recommend working with Ms. Carrie, I always was excited to meet with her and we worked together to improve my dyslexia...."

School Advocacy
It can be overwhelming to understand all that is involved when it comes to dyslexia and other specific learning disabilities. It is essential to understand your rights as a parent, your student’s rights, and the legal requirements of schools. We help you interpret the data and reports, navigate the meetings, explain special accommodations, and support you and the school.
Our experts have experience in public and private school settings. We have been on both sides of the table, as a parent to a child with special needs and as a school administrator. We understand the academic language and complexities of section 504s(accommodations), ARDs(admission review dismissal), and IEPs(individualized education plan). We know the options available as a student transitions throughout their academic career. As an educational specialist, we are available to support you and your student.
"... Carrie also taught us a lot about Section 504, how to ensure we had the right 504 plan for our daughter, and how to advocate for her rights to learn in school..."

My teaching journey began in a second-grade classroom, where I quickly discovered a deep passion for helping all students learn in ways that honored their unique strengths. I found myself especially drawn to those who struggled with traditional methods of instruction. I empathized with their frustration and the toll it could take on their confidence. This fueled my determination to find positive, creative, and engaging ways to reach every learner.
I believed — and still believe — that all students can thrive when taught in a multisensory, supportive, and low-stress environment. Guided by this belief and a compassionate teaching style, I earned a certification in special education and taught in a specialized classroom setting.
To further my commitment to helping struggling readers, I trained at the Luke Waites Center for Dyslexia and Learning Disorders at Scottish Rite for Children and became a Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT). This intensive training, combined with years of classroom experience, has shaped the work I do today in my private practice.
Whether working one-on-one or in small groups, in person or virtually, I meet each student where they are — academically and emotionally. My goal is to support the whole child, building their skills and confidence while helping them discover the joy of learning.
"Carrie Sneed approaches her teaching with patience, kindness, and encouragement, which made a significant difference for my children..."
